By teaming up with leading industry partners and local forest community representatives, we’ll form unique partnerships and work beyond individual supply chains to protect and restore critical forest landscapes. We welcome your company to join our Forest Allies community.

Supporting local economies and forests
In our 30-plus years of work, we’ve found that those who make their living from the forest have the greatest incentive to protect it. But forest communities often lack access to the resources that would enable their forest enterprises to economically thrive. That’s why we are equally focused on protecting natural forests and partnering with communities to build strong local economies.
With our Forest Allies community of practice, we want to contribute to:
- Maintaining and restoring forests and biodiversity;
- Implementing sustainable forest management at scale;
- Supporting forest communities in adapting to climate change;
- Elevating the expertise of forest communities;
- Improving livelihoods for foresters and their families.

Collaborative and solutions-based
Our approach aims to create long-lasting impact for forests through people and partnerships. It is based on our model of Integrated Community Forest Management. The community of practice will meet twice a year to come up with solutions to shared challenges. We will also collaboratively develop thought leadership pieces. In addition, we will learn from each other’s knowledge and experiences within the group.
As a Forest Allies member, you can operate knowing your company’s policies and strategies align with the Accountability Framework. We’ll also share results-based claims to clearly illustrate our group’s impact. Above all, you’ll gain confidence that your investment in forests will result in a better future for people and nature.
