Not directly. The Rainforest Alliance levies a single charge on companies that benefit from Rainforest Alliance certification to the Rainforest Alliance Sustainable Agriculture Standard.
Known as the participation royalty—for the use of the certification seal and other intellectual property associated with it—this levy is collected from businesses in the middle of the supply chain, those that buy and sell goods produced on Rainforest Alliance Certified farms.
