Sarah – Jane Danchie is a Social-Economist with more than 15 years’ experience in international sustainable development, which includes 12 years based in Ghana working across 25 African countries. For the past decade, she has been focused on gender and youth inclusive social economic development programs in natural resource sectors (mining, oil & gas and agricultural industries) across African countries.
She is currently the Director for Africa at The Social Investment Consultancy (TSIC), a global social impact management consultancy. She co-founded the Africa chapter of TSIC in Ghana in 2019 and has since expanded TSIC’s engagements to 20 African countries. As the Principal Consultant, she specialises in increasing impact investment, responsible global supply chains and international sustainability programmes with enhanced standards on gender and racial diversity, equity and inclusion. With TSIC Africa, she has led and co-led more than 50 research, advisory and monitoring. evaluation and learning consulting assignments in a range of sectors.
Prior to joining TSIC, Sarah worked with an African-led and African based economic policy institute, African Center for Economic Transformation (ACET), as a founding staff member She led policy orientated research for private-public sector collaboration in this area. Sarah began her career working with the Commonwealth, working on member countries in almost every region in the world – Africa, Asia, Europe, the Pacific, Americas and especially small and vulnerable economies in the African, Caribbean and Pacific regions..
Sarah is an Acumen Fellow. Selected in 2022 as 1 of 24 women and men chosen to join the Acumen global community of dedicated leaders in public and private spaces. She holds a MSc and BSc both majoring in Economics from the University of London’s School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) and Queen Mary College respectively.
