Marilú Hernández de Bosoms was born in Mexico City and is co-founder of Grupo Plan, a Mexican real estate company specializing in the development of hotels and resorts.
In 2002 she founded and still chairs Fundación Haciendas Mundo Maya, a non-profit organization that advances regional development in Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula, bringing sustainable income to local business through tourism and access to premium markets.
Hernández de Bosoms serves on the board of several companies and nonprofit organizations including Fondo Mexicano para la Conservación de la Naturaleza, Proagro, and Ensable. She previously was the chair of the World Heritage Alliance and board member of Citi-Banamex for 20 years. She also leads initiatives that connect artisans with design resources and premium markets, preserving traditional craftsmanship while creating sustainable income opportunities.
She holds a business and finance degree from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico, and a Master’s degree in public policy. When not engaged in professional activities, Marilú enjoys hiking and spending quality time outdoors with her family, activities that continue to inform her approach to sustainable business practices and conservation efforts.
