Annemieke Wijn is the principal of Anchor-Consult, where she develops sustainability strategies for corporate value chains. She has more than 30 years of experience in the global food industry with General Foods, Jacobs Suchard, and Kraft Foods, where she was responsible for the German coffee business.
In 1998 she was elected president of the German Coffee Association. In 2002, she became the senior director of commodity sustainability programs at Kraft Foods, where she created and implemented industry- and world-wide sustainability initiatives such as the 4C Association. Wijn retired from Kraft in 2006.
Wijn also does volunteer work in sustainable development such as with the Rainforest Alliance and the Hanns R. Neumann Foundation. She holds a bachelor’s degree in biophysics from Rijksuniversiteit Leiden (Netherlands), a Master’s degree in bioengineering from Columbia University, and an MBA from Long Island in New York. She lives in Bremen, Germany.
