Human Resources Coordinator, Mexico - Executive Office Division
The Rainforest Alliance is an international nonprofit organization that works to conserve biodiversity and ensure sustainable livelihoods by transforming land-use practices, business practices and consumer behavior. The Human Resources Coordinator will be responsible for providing day-to-day Human Resources support for his/her assigned employee population, in coordination with the appropriate Human Resources Generalist and under the overall direction of the Director, Human Resources.
Recruitment, Hiring & Orientation
- Coordinate the recruitment and selection of local employees, ensuring that staffing requirements are satisfied in the most timely and cost effective manner. This includes initial consultation with hiring managers and review of the forms/process for posting jobs, screening resumes, scheduling/conducting onsite interviews, maintaining electronic recruitment tracking files and hardcopy files and working with the assigned Human Resources Generalist to prepare correspondence, extend offers to and answer questions from candidates;
- Provide orientation for local hires on recruitment and performance evaluation process; and
- Work with hiring managers on developing/updating job descriptions.
Employee Relations
- Act as primary point of contact for employee relations/performance issues.
Compensation & Benefits
- In coordination with headquarters in New York and the local Accounting representative, process monthly payroll (in-house or through payroll company);
- Provide information as requested regarding end-of-service payments;
- Support periodic participation in salary surveys: collect job descriptions, salary and benefit information (and levels for each benefit);
- Perform initial reviews and edits of location staff job descriptions (title & content) and proposed increases for promotions before submitting to Human Resources Generalist for final approval; and
- Act as primary support for managers in annual merit adjustment process.
Policy & Procedure Administration
- Respond to inquiries on human resources-related policy and procedures;
- Act as first point of contact for staff change requests (i.e., title, salary, relocation, etc); and
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred;
- 5-7 years experience of human resource management;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; English language skills desired;
- Extremely organized and detail oriented with strong follow-through skills;
- Excellent computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, and HRIS administration experience;
- Ability to work within a team structure as well as independently, be creative, take initiative, and possess excellent interpersonal communication skills; and
- Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
Commensurate with experience.
